HISTORY

The Balsam Lake Homeowner's Association has served the residents living on Polk County's largest and most populous lake for over 50 years. It ranks among the largest,
most active and respected organizations in the Wisconsin Association of Lakes.
It is funded solely by membership dues, advertising income and fundraising projects.

THE BOARD

The BLHA's Board of Directors and its committees continually work to fund and administrate the many projects important to the lake community. Primary among these efforts is sponsorship of the lake's deputized Water Safety Patrol and state-certified Boating Safety classes for adults and youngsters.

SAFETY & MAINTENANCE

Balsam Lake's safety record is second to none. In addition, BLHA volunteers annually place, maintain and remove safety buoys on the lake, monitor the lake water quality and represent the membership at government meetings.

SPONSORSHIPS & ACTIVITIES

The Association is the major sponsor of Balsam Lake's annual Freedom Fest Fireworks Show, conducts the July 4th Boat Parade, and holds their Annual Meeting of the membership the second Saturday of August. These activities are supported by Association publications which provide the only communications link among an estimated 2,100 persons who occupy over 800 residences on or near Balsam Lake's 23 miles of shoreline that reaches into five separate municipalities. Over 75% of this growing, affluent population are recreational residents who own two or more homes plus multiple vehicles and watercraft.
